Digital transformation creates foundation for building digital economy

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has chaired the 2nd meeting of the National Committee on Digital Transformation via video on April 27, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of relevant departments, agencies, branches and localities of Thai Nguyen province attended the online meeting.  

On his speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the heavy task of the National Committee on Digital Transformation as it is required to devise proper mechanisms and policies aimed at promoting the process of national digital transformation. Indeed, this is closely linked with boosting administrative reform and developing an e-Government, digital economy, and digital society towards smart city development.

PM Chinh therefore requested that competent agencies review and fine-tune institutions as one of the three breakthroughs in revamping information technology infrastructure, as well as developing and applying digital technology in the national development.
It can be viewed as essential to mobilise resources, strengthen public-private partnerships, as well as to mobilise the contributions of the people to carry out digital transformation that is both modern and suitable to the situation, the national economy, and capacity. This should be done while improving the overall quality of human resources, the Vietnamese cabinet leader went on to state.

For Thai Nguyen province, the Provincial Party Committee has issued a resolution on Digital Transformation Program, period 2021 - 2025, orientation to 2030; take December 31 as the Digital Transformation Day. Thai Nguyen has attracted corporations and businesses to participate in the digital transformation process such as: Viettel; VNPT; AIC, SaigonTel-NGS alliance... Besides, the model of "paperless meeting room" with digitized reports; Online conferences were widely deployed.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, PC-Covid applications, COVID-19 epidemiological maps, surveillance camera systems in isolation areas, blockade areas have been installed, helping to effectively achieve the dual goal of pandemic prevention and control and socio-economic development. Smart Operation Centers IOC, citizen application software "C-ThaiNguyen", digital social platform "Thai Nguyen ID" help to enhance interaction between authorities and local people.
