Recommending many solutions to improve PCI

On August 16, at Danko Thai Nguyen Trade Center, Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee held a training conference on improving the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2022. 

Representatives attended the conference.

Mr. Le Quang Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee ; members of the Provincial PCI Steering Committee; leaders of departments, divisions, branches and localities; representatives of associations, business associations, and some enterprises in the province attended the conference. 

At the conference, Mr. Dau Anh Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy General Secretary, Head of the Legal Department of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) informed the following contents: overview of PCI; impacts of PCI on provincial government as well as in investment attraction; PCI construction process; experience in improving the component indexes of the leading provinces…

Along with that, Mr. Dau Anh Tuan deeply analyzed the achievements as well as some limitations in the implementation of the PCI index in Thai Nguyen, thereby making some recommendations to the province to improve this index in the coming time.

 

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Quang Tien emphasized that Thai Nguyen was ranked 28th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of 2021 PCI index (with 64.81 points), reducing 17 positions compared to 2020. This showed that the PCI index of the province needed to be strongly and drastically improved. Through this conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the departments, branches and localities basing on the guided contents to come up with solutions to overcome the limitations, improve the quality of service to the people and businesses, creating a best investment and business environment, improving the PCI index in the coming time.

Also at the conference, the representatives of associations, business associations, and some enterprises discuss PCI evaluation methods and recommended their advices to improve this index in the coming time.
