The Homestay program has been implemented during the last 6 years by the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Thai Nguyen province in collaboration with universities and colleges in the area.

In the school year 2021-2022, the Association organized for Lao students to visit historical and cultural sites; participate in tea picking and tea making; join singing contests of Vietnam's national anthem and Vietnamese songs; attend traditional weddings; learn about the culture, customs and habits of some ethnic minorities in the province... The Homestay program has contributed to helping Laotian students improve their Vietnamese language skills and integrate quickly into cultural and social life in Vietnam.

Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations Vu Duy Hoang highly appreciated the activities organized by the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association over the past time. In particular, Homestay is a program with practical meaning, creating a spread and positive effect between Lao students and Thai Nguyen people.

He suggested that the Association continue to maintain this activity and organize other activities to foster the friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

On this occasion, the province's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association presented Certificates of Merit to 12 individuals and 16 groups with outstanding contributions to the Homestay program in the school year 2021-2022.
