Raising awareness of Vietnam’s seas and islands among university students

On May 30, at the University of Technology under Thai Nguyen University, the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization organized a 2026 awareness-raising conference for the university’s officials, youth members and students.

At the conference, representatives of the Naval Logistics and Technical Department provided information on the position, role and strategic importance of Vietnam’s seas and islands to the cause of national construction and defense. Participants were also updated on the current maritime situation and key achievements of the Vietnam People’s Navy in safeguarding the country’s maritime sovereignty.

The conference also disseminated legal regulations on crime prevention and the fight against social evils, while helping participants identify methods and tactics used by high-tech criminals, online fraudsters, and illegal religious proselytizing activities. In addition, students received guidance on preventive measures and ways to strengthen legal awareness and compliance.

As part of the program, student representatives from the University of Technology signed a commitment to strictly comply with the law, actively participate in crime prevention and social harm reduction efforts, building a safe and healthy learning environment.
